The 2018 Masters: Everything You Need To Know

Golf enthusiasts around the world have been waiting for the 2018 Masters. The element of excitement is what makes the competition fun to watch.

First among all parts of the competition is a kick start for the golfers. The first part focuses on briefing the golfers and lets them decide whether they are ready for competing. The second part is where the golfers are let to prepare for their gears and undergo practices as they are also given the rules of the competition. The third part is the nerve-racking part where the contenders ease their pressure for the competition.

The biggest challenge in every golfer in any game is choosing the right club that could hit the ball enough to shoot it in the hole. In golf, there is no standard area of playing which makes it different from all the other sports. The design of each golf course differs from the other and the space is not the same as well. However, each golf course must consist of 9 or 18 holes. There are specific rules and regulations in each game and each golfers must abide these rules.

Every golfer’s number of stroke is counted in the game. Although, each golfer has his own strokes in playing. In golf, each player has to defeat his opponent in a match play scoring system.

This game was originated in Scotland sometime in the 12th century as shepherds kick the stones to small rabbit holes and those who scores first wins the game. This goal is still used in golfing these days and the only difference is that golfers use clubs instead of just kicking the ball.

Over the years, golfing has evolved from being just a simple pastime to a more serious competition. These include the following:

Medal play or stroke play

This type of competition is widely used in professional tournaments. In the stroke or medal play, each golfer must complete all 18 holes in the course and the player the lowest total net scores when it comes to number of strokes wins.

The match play

Match plays is where two teams of golfers compete in scoring the most holes from each other. Match plays are mostly used in golf clubs with many club members and since this type of competition is played by teams, the rules and regulations must be strictly followed by each golfers.

Scramble Competition

In this type of golfing, each player scores the balls in a hole and it will be decided which among the shots is the best one. After such, each of the player repeats the act until the competition is over. Scramble is very popular among golf enthusiasts because it is the less complicated among all the other types

Skin

In a skin competition, the players compete for a certain prize known as the ‘skin’ in each hole.
The prize is called the ‘skin’ because it is a bag made of skin which contains cash prize.

The flag

The flag competition is also called the Last Man Standing or the Tombstone because in this type of competition, the golfers start the round with an allotment of strokes and they later on play along the golf course until the strokes they alloted run out.

These are just some of the many types of golf competitions set for the 2018 Masters Review so don’t miss out your chance to see famous golfers including Iain Sharpe take over the golf course.
